About us
Otago Airspread has been helping local farmers grow more since 2000, when Des and Elaine combined their passion for aviation and farming to start the business. Seeing a gap in the market for a quality topdressing service, they set out to deliver reliable, down-to-earth support to rural communities across Otago and Southland.
What began on the Taieri Plains has grown over the years, with bases now in Taieri, Balclutha, Roxburgh, Gore, and Waimate, making it easier for us to service farms right across Otago, Southland, and Canterbury.
Backed by a team of six experienced pilots with over 75,000 hours of flying under their belts, and a modern fleet of four Crescos and a Fletcher, we’re here to help you get the most out of your land – season after season.
Today, the family legacy continues with Des and Elaine’s son Ryan and his wife Tash coming into the business. Ryan is starting to take the lead, bringing fresh energy while keeping the same strong focus on looking after our farming clients.
